El Mercadito Gratis is open for anyone in need of gently used clothes, housewares, and bedding. Before you visit, please note:

  • No appointment needed

  • No ID necessary but basic personal information is collected

  • Persons interested in pay-what-you-can model may use the Mercadito as a thrift store

Donations Needed Currently:

  • New Children’s Underwear (sizes 4T-14)

  • New Women’s and Men’s underwear (sizes small & medium only)

  • Kitchenware: blenders, pressure cookers, stock pots, pots, pans, cutting boards, dishes, cups, glasses, utensils, kitchen towels

  • Housewares: bath towels, sheets & pillowcases, blankets, new pillows

  • Children’s Summer clothing sizes 10-20 ONLY (new/gently used)

  • Women’s Summer clothes sizes small, medium & large (new/gently used)

  • Men’s Summer clothes sizes small & medium (new/gently used)

  • Swimsuits - all genders and sizes

Mercadito Policies

  • Clients can visit the Mercadito once per month

  • Masks are optional

  • There is a limit of 5 visitors in the Mercadito at one time

  • Clothing limits change and are based on current inventory

  • Clothes cannot be tried on

  • Sorry - No Returns

    For Case Workers

    You are welcome to shop on behalf of clients who are unable to visit the Mercadito Gratis in person. A valid ID is required.

Thrift Shop Pricing

Clothes at the Pilsen Food Pantry are always free. If you feel inclined to donate to the Pantry in return for clothing, you are welcome to pay what you can.
