New Migrants

The Pilsen Food Pantry is an immigrant-serving organization and is honored to work with our Ward 25 Aldermanic Office and amazing community partners. As a multilingual community, it is not surprising that migrants want to stay in our community. Our client volume for all programs has increased and, with your support, we have been able to rise to the challenge.

We are ready and willing to welcome our newest neighbors. Although our primary focus is safety, shelter, food, clothing, and healthcare, we are rapidly developing additional supports to meet as many of the complex social needs the migrants need.

We have helped thousands of people via multiple local temporary housing supports created in Pilsen and Little Village, including the 12th Police District warming center/temporary shelter. SEE BELOW FOR OUR DONATION LIST.

Your donations have been used to purchase food (raw ingredients and hot) for local temporary shelters, buy sleeping bags, jackets, food, and other supplies for District 12 police station, medical supplies for our healthcare screenings, and new underwear, socks, and other garments for folks. The business community has also been very generous and supplied other helpful items such as bottled water (for D12 and other street based folks), laundry detergent, diapers, and more.

For a list of needed donations and more information on how to help, please visit the 12th District Migrant Support website.
